Project 3: Action Animation
In the final project, we are required to animate a 5 to 10 second physical action sequences. We have to choose an action sequence that involves physical movement, such as a fight, chase, or sports-related activity.

Reference Video
First I found a reference video on YouTube from a Japanese channel that I can't read. At first I was thinking to do a parkour animation from one roof to another roof like a game vialled Vector. Then I rethinked how much I didn't like doing a spinning animation, especially a full spin seen in parkour animations. I kept looking until I found a sword fight video.

Animation Process
The animation process video can be seen below.

Blocking and Polishing
Once I found an action sequence I was happy with, I started blocking the actions in Blender, by identifying the contact, up, down and passing. I had to make sure the actions and poses all look natural. Then, I polished up all the movements so they looked smoother and more natural together.

Environment and Sound
Once the animation was done, I made the environment to put the character as well as put textures on it to look more realistic. I also added sound to match all the action and feel more immersive.

Feedback
All good.

Reflection
This animation is the one I am most proud of as I was surprised that it didn't take me that long. However, I was able to learn new things throughout this project compared to the ones before as I have more freedom in what I do in this final project. First, I learnt about making the ground texture by using displacement mapping which allows me to simulate the texture of a plane which I am proud of as it allows me to make interesting ground rahter than just a flat plane. Second thing I learnt is to make mountain landscape in the scenes as I find it quite plane to just have the skies. One of the method was to use a plane with multiple subdivisions then scuplting then I found a method I ended up with which was to use an add-on called ANT landscapes. This allows me to create landscapes as a mesh and easily modify it the way I want it.
