Final Project
Project Overview:
In this web design project, you will create a single-page website dedicated
to your favorite artist. This project will help you develop your web design
and development skills while allowing you to showcase your passion for the
artist of your choice.
Project Requirements:
Artist Selection: Choose your favorite artist as the subject of your
website. It can be a musician, painter, actor, or any other creative
individual or group. Ensure you have a genuine interest in the artist, as
this will help you create a more engaging website.
Content:
Your single-page website should include the following sections:
Header with the artist's name and a brief tagline.
Introduction: Provide an overview of the artist's background and why
you admire them.
Biography: Include a brief biography or description of the artist's
life and career.
Gallery: Showcase images, videos, or other multimedia related to the
artist's work.
Contact Information: If applicable, include contact details or links
to the artist's social media profiles.
Design Elements:
Choose a color scheme and fonts that reflect the artist's style or your
personal taste.
Ensure a visually appealing layout with a balanced use of text and
multimedia.
Create a responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes
(mobile-friendly).
Navigation: Implement smooth scrolling navigation or a simple menu
that allows users to jump to different sections of the page.
Interactivity: Consider adding interactive elements such as image
sliders, hover effects, or lightboxes for multimedia content.
1. References
I went on Pinterest to look for some inspirations of layout to study on. From the references on top, I planned to make a simple minimalistic layout design with a simple form of navigation bar so that it's easy to navigate and not that eyesore to look at.
2. Study on the Artist's Web
I've discovered that the artist has a site that I could refer on that might
help with my content. From the site, I took the iconic sloth image to make it
as a favicon for the site. Since the site went on with a minimalistic style, I
remained on the style I thought on before.
3. Choosing color scheme
I've chose on the color scheme from the images of his live performance and
music video as I find it to be contrasting towards one another. The first
image has sort of like a warm sunset shade color while the second image has
sort of a cool color.

Reflection
My journey during this project was fine but there was so much work piled up
that I neglected this work to the point that the time was getting closer to
the submission date. Due to that, my work looks rushed to me at least since I
know that I would have done better than that. To top it off, I've done web
design for a favorite artist during my foundation year though it was through
the use of wix. I kept with the same artist as I already have the info needed
to start working on it.
This project made me wanting to hit my head against my desk alot due to the
times that my codes were not working the way I want them to work. I was also
mad when the work looks different as I was working on both my laptop and
desktop. Due to that, the space to work on is different in terms of the final
look. I was able to work on it after getting a hang on checking the work once
every few codes here and there.
Thankfully the internet was helpful when it comes to getting my codes fixed
and also the youtube guiders that had helped me countless amount of times.
Though mostly it's just me going on the video to get the link to the code for
me to copy and paste then work on it to suit my site. The work is sort of fun
if I had more time to add things like animation and so on. On top of that, I
thought I was not allowed to add in Javascript since we didn't learn anything
about it until I saw a student doing it which got me thinking that I could
have done a better job. I would say I'm somewhat happy with the final outcome.
