Instructions
Final Project: Stop-motion
In week 1, we were already told to start forming a group of 2 and start
thinking about what kind of stop-motion do we want to go for and start
looking up references to analyze the art style, story-telling direction and
character design to get inspired before we start our project.
Requirements:
▪ Screen Resolution 1080p(Full HD), 16:9(Wide Screen)
▪ Frame Rate 24/25fps
▪ Field Option Progressive Scan
▪ Audio Quality 48kHZ, 16-bits stereo
▪ Compression H.264
Proposal
Our initial idea was working on the gore/thriller type of genre as we both are
very fond in it and love watching it so why not we make it. That was the
thought we had. I introduced my partner to this stop motion creator on YouTube
that I have been really into for awhile and adored the work he made due to the
fact that it traumatized most of my friends that I've shown.
From this video we were inspired of how they work on the material used which
was clay. The way he manipulated the clay and was still able to make gore
content was insane.
Since we targeted on making a stop motion involving the climate change, we
wanted to try to implement the fire in the form of clay using the method shown
in the stop motion above. Sadly, it backfired for us as we were not able to
manipulate it as smooth as he did.
Task delegating
After shooting, we both delegated our tasks. Mine on working on compiling the
shots and fitting the length plus the framerates while my partner works on
getting the sound effects to edit in as her part of the editing process.
Final submission
Reflection
The time throughout this project was fun as we were able to work on any ideas
we have in mind with no limitations. Since we were both broke, we chose on
working with clay as it was a cheaper option and it would not be costly if we
were to mess things up. The thought process was easy for us as we both already
have the same way to approach the ideation part of the proposal. Working with
my partner was great as we both were able to settle on the schedule to meet
with no issue as we have the same class schedule and trust on each other's
potential when it comes to working together.
